Athletics at Tome

Tome Upper School students are strongly encouraged to participate in a sport, and nearly all play on at least one team. Interscholastic teams for boys are cross-country, soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis. Interscholastic teams for girls are cross-country, field hockey, soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis and softball. Teams compete with both private and public schools in the area.
Middle School students in the eighth grade are eligible to participate on all athletic teams. Fifth, sixth and seventh graders are eligible for cross-country, field hockey and tennis; sixth and seventh graders are eligible for soccer and volleyball. In addition, the Middle School fields two girls’ and two boys’ basketball teams for a winter league.

Fees
Student athletes are charged an annual $25 participation fee for each Tome Varsity, JV or Middle School sport in which they participate. In addition, student athletes are billed at the end of the each season for transportation to away contests and occasionally for team t-shirts and other articles of team apparel that the athlete keeps. Including the participation fee, fees total approximately $40 – 95 per sport.
